Live Workshop: Making KS3 Data Meaningful 2.0

Tuesday 28 February 2023, 16:30 - 17:00 on Zoom

How can we simplify our KS3 assessment approach to maximise student impact, improve communication with parents and reduce workload?

Learning outcomes:

  • Communicating attainment and progress effectively
  • How to provide flexibility for each subject
  • Maximising impact on curriculum and students

In the second version of this live workshop with Pupil Progress Co-Founder, Barnaby Grimble, you will learn how to define your indicators of attainment and progress effectively, how to provide flexibility for each department to assess in the way that suits them best, and how to ensure your KS3 assessment strategy impacts on your curriculum and students.

Barnaby will add further focus towards subject leaders too, unpacking types of assessments and descriptors.

Helping you to define and reach your goals for Whole School level KS3 tracking

Barnaby uses his 12 years experience as a leader in three schools and his current role as Chief Product Officer at Pupil Progress to make that inextricable link between meaningful, accurate assessment data and impactful teaching and learning.

He says: ‘There’s no hiding from it, I’m a data geek. Although it's not the data itself I love, but the knowledge that harnessing the power of your data will have a huge impact in the classroom. Behind every piece of data is a student – and the data is there to tell us their story so that we can provide the best support to them.’

We will take the confusion, pressure and wasted time out of assessment analysis for you, supporting a whole school approach that:

  • Gives a consistent approach and language across all subjects

  • Can be adapted to suit each subject area

  • Provides a way to analyse the progress of individual students, classes and year groups

  • Produces individual student reports for download
